It's coming to the end....

Things are starting to come to and end. This will be the last week for blog comments and sketchbook/blog updates. Might I suggest the following:

1. Make a comment on a fellow classmates blog. Don't click on any of the other comments that read, click here. They are all viruses. I sent an email to the blogspot people to find out why that is happening. It's a major bummer.

2. Bring some closure to your blog. Perhaps you could link it back to the AP website so that people who visit can see all your work together. Here is the link http://lhs.loswego.k12.or.us/z-mcbrides/AP/breadthconcentration0708.htm

Please do not delete your blog. I will be using them in a presentation at the National Art Conference next year! People are very excited about what we have done this year.

3. Bring a senior picture for Ms. McB

4. Tuesday we will work on the Central Asia Institute images. Your cubby needs to be cleaned out and you need to return your packet of love. It should include 10 paintbrushes, 6 pencils, a white eraser, a white palette, other stuff I can't remember. If you've lost it or don't have all the parts you will be charged. The packet in it's entirety is worth $40.00. You will have to pay this before you can graduate.

5. Thursday I should have all the websites updated and we will evaluate each others work.

6. That will leave us with two class periods. One of which we will write a letter to a future AP Art Studio student. I figure out what we are going to do with the rest of the time. We can finish the paintings or clean the room, inventory... I'm sure we will come up with something.

Monday,Wednesday, Friday of May

What's going on this week?

1. Blog comment and sketchbook/blog update (one more week of this and then we are done.)

2. Pick a famous piece of art to reproduce for the Central Asia Institute. BTW, here is the website to Greg Mortenson's story and information about the organization. http://www.gregmortenson.com/welcome.php

3. We got the computer CD issue resolved. We should be good to go with the creation of your websites. Each website will need a complete breadth, concentration and quality section. Don't forget to email me your artist statement. This will all be due by Friday. I will link the sites and then we can begin the evaluation process the following week. You will evaluate yourself, classmates will evaluate and I will evaluate your work. This is worth a huge chunk of your end grade. Very important to do this!

4. Life drawing this week! Wednesday from 6-8 pm. $5.00 Belly Dancers and Pizza, what more could you ask for! Should be a great session.

5. Dates coming up, May 21st the last Artist After Hours 3-4. May 28th the last NAHS meeting 2:45 - 4:30ish.

Do you WANT these?

If you would like to graduate with National Art Honor Society Honors you need to get your yellow hours sheet into Ms. McB by the 5th of May!!!!! We are ordering the cords on the 5th at 4:00 in order to get them by graduation.

Tuesday and Thursday

Tuesday is the AP Test. Well it's not really a test. You will need to finish labeling slides, pick out and prepare your quality section and do your statement. It will take the whole class period and then some.

Don't worry about a sketchbook this week. Blog comment only.

Thursday is a fun day. We are going to celebrate! Don't eat breakfast or stop for the coffee on the way in. I've got a special suprise for all of you. We might work on updating our website to include all the concentrations you have done. I will also introduce the assignment we will be working on until the end of the year. The picture included is a hint to the assignment.

Be prepared to clean out cubbies and take all artwork home the following week. Also, pretty soon we will be turning in the packet of love, trays and other art room items you have borrowed throughout the year. Any thing lost or not returned you will need to pay for. So start searching!

So Proud

WOW!!! The AP Showcase was better than Amy and I could have imagined. You all were amazing, awesome, celebrated artists! Way to go. It was such a group effort. I can't believe all that food was eaten! Best thing we've done in years. Destine to be a tradition. Here are some pic's more coming.....
