Instead of a sketchbook assignment this week you have been asked to write an artist statement for your Scholastic Portfolio. If you are not a senior or you don't want to do a Scholastic Portfolio you can complete a sketchbook assignment.
http://www.scholastic.com/artandwritingawards/enter.htm
Please address the following in a statement no less than 300 words and no more than 750 words.
1. Why did you select the images for your Scholastic portfolio? You will eventually need to select 8 images for your portfolio. You know what you've created and what will most likely end up in the portfolio. Do your best!
2. How do you hope people will respond to your work?
3. What role does art/photography play in your life?
You will also need to make a blog comment. Speaking of which, you don't need to wait for me to assign additions to your blog. Feel free at anytime to add images, poll's, text, whatever! Make it yours.
See you Tuesday :)

i found it really difficult to write it because i don't know what im putting in to scholastic so is it ok if i turn it in wednesday after i've talked to you about what im submitting?
i am so glad i dont have to do that for now
it was hard trying to write about our portfolios without actually saying what was in them
i found it really hard as well. i wasn't sure what the style of writing was supposed to be for this....
