Well I just realized as I sat down to write this blog that I am a complete dork. Here I was thinking that next Thursday was the first Thursday of November and it's actually today, right now. So... if you've never been to a first Thursday you should go in December on the 6th. Or if your up for an adventure you could go and make your own tradition....like 2nd Thursday. Galleries are great places to get ideas for your own work. The critic's pick in the Oregonian suggested going to Tilt Gallery and Project Space, the artist is Stephen Slappe. Stephen is a conceptual and video artist. The second pick is Laura Russo Gallery, with artist Marie Sivak, who is a stone sculpture. Finally, Quality Pictures has painter Kojo Griffin a contemporary artist.

i actually went to the lawrence gallery and saw Amanda Dunbar and her work, it was incredible, the piece that stretched across what seemed like 8 panels or huge canvas, beautifully stunning!!
